getSpec.com introduces the new USB 4000 fiberoptic coupled miniature spectrometer. The spectrometer unit contains the 3648-element Toshiba TCD1304AP linear CCD-array detector common to 4000-series Spectrometers like our high resolution spectrograph HR4000.

The USB4000 spectrometer is a UV/VIS miniature spectrometer with USB interface. It connects directly to a desktop or laptop PC via an USB 2.0 interface. As it is very compact, USB4000 is suitable for use with mobile spectroscopic applications. The Plug & Play technique allows for easy installing the spectrometer. The wavelength calibration is automatically read to the software, facilitating both installation and handling significantly. The heart of the USB4000 spectrometer is the optical bench from the tried and tested USB2000 spectrometer. There are 14 different gratings and different input slits to choose from in the 200-1100nm range. The USB4000 spectrometer needs no additionally electrical power supply. A connection facility for the light source and a cuvette holder connection are incorporated.
The USB4000 UV/VIS is pre-set in a configuration appropriate for most absorbance and reflectance measurements. Users can choose from our complete line of spectroscopic accessories to use with the USB4000. Most accessories have SMA connectors for application flexibility. Changing the sampling system is as easy as unscrewing a connector and adding new components or accessories, such as light sources, sampling holders, filter holders, flow cells, fiber optic probes and so one.
For the USB4000 spectrometer we provide the new software platform: SentroSuite.
SentroSuite is a completely modular, Java-based spectroscopy software platform that operates on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems.
